Thanksgiving trip to Angel Fire, New Mexico

Thanksgiving is the perfect time to celebrate everything that we are blessed with. For me, my awesome husband and amazing friends top the list. While some of my best friends are in India where I grew up, I was lucky to find some really close friends in the US as well. Some of us were living in different cities in 2018, so we planned a get-together in a snow covered mountain village called Angel Fire in New Mexico, which is roughly half-way between Phoenix and Austin.

We found a lovely cabin in the snow covered Rocky mountains called "Wine Down Retreat". It was secluded and perfect for our group of 14 adults and 8 kids.

It had this amazing view from the balcony where we could watch the rising sun...

And this cool private zip line in the backyard...

We did not have any checklists for this vacation, no pressure to get up and go see places or do things. The purpose was to stay together, cook and eat together and simply create memories. And that we did in abundance.  It also immensely helped that the cabin had a ping pong table and pool table to keep us active and occupied and a TV to watch some movies together, when we were not busy eating or drinking or chatting. Here's pretty much what we did for 3 days:

We went for some morning walks right outside our cabin...

Had some leisurely breakfast in the cozy living room...

Played in the snow in the afternoons...

And decked up and posed for pics in the evenings followed by music and dance...

Whipped up our thanksgiving dinners in this spacious kitchen...

Here's the Thanksgiving meal prepared by...

...these guys and Mohit who is not in this pic coz he is most likely taking the pic :)

Last but not the least, here's the van and trailer we drove in from Phoenix to New Mexico. What a fun ride it was!

A heartfelt thanks to all our friends from both of us :)
